'Fraud Dog' Linda Webb Sniffs Evidence Investigators Should Be Scratching Around Aruba's Possible Murder Suspect

One of the country's leading insurance fraud experts, Linda Webb, said investigators should have a field day combing through a mountain of evidence that could possibly show what Gary Giordano was up to before and after the suspicious disappearance of his girlfriend in Aruba.

Known in investigative circles as the Fraud Dog, the title of a drama series (similar to "America's Most Wanted"), she's developing for television (www.thefrauddog.com), Webb cited key areas police should be looking into now that a possible motive may have surfaced by Giordano's having taken out a travel/accident insurance policy on the missing woman, Robyn Gardner.

Certainly they should be pulling the suspect Giordano's hard drive at home, probing whether he researched insurance products prior to their trip to Aruba.

Another fruitful area to probe is what questions Giordano asked insurance agents, which often leads to clues that a possible murderer might leave behind.

"I'd also investigate what's called 'link analysis' or evidence pointing to whether a suspect has done this before as he may possibly have killed other women."

Webb said another area she has probed productively in similar cases is a suspect's insurance knowledge base. "From whom did he learn about purchasing travel/accident insurance for someone not a spouse or relative?"

Webb is concerned about the deadly consequences of dating scams leading to murder for insurance schemes because once criminals in third world countries like Nigeria learn how easy it may be to pull off, "many more will die." Often highly publicized news stories induce other fraudsters to jump into the same cesspool to commit similar crimes.

Webb (http://thefrauddog.com) has dedicated 30 years to fighting fraud, handling some of the most complex fraud schemes involving organized crime rings, terrorist groups domestically and internationally, working with such investigative news shows as Prime Time and 20/20, and completing over 19,000 investigations yielding $1.2 billion in savings.

Linda works closely with law enforcement, task force operations, FBI, special prosecutors, attorneys general, and other federal and state enforcement agencies. Her cases have been used as the "fraud model" for fighting terrorism after 9/11.

Webb is President of Contego Services Group, LLC, a provider of insurance and risk management services, where she offers her innovative SWARM-link technology, a powerful new insurance investigation system, which identifies suspicious worker's compensation claims quicker.
